Snapped Driveshaft !

Last Tues on my return from Manchester to Blackpool and having given a new set of tyres on the front. I got within a mile of home and setting off from the lights small metallic clunk then gerraaunch as I tried to accelerate with no effect.

 

Sods law it was the day I'd left my mobile at home....60p for a single call at the phone box, outrageous !

 

Turns out I snapped the drive-shaft.

 

Have had the driveshaft and stubshaft replaced and am back on the road.

 

Is this a common failure ?

 

Oooh yeah just clocked the 100,000 mile mark !

Probably early signs, clunky drive line vibration ignored so stripped splines a consequence, quite common.
